Trucking Telematics

Everyone knows about “Black Boxes” on airplanes and most people realize that commercial trucks have similar technology onboard as well.

Trucking telematics uses technology to track and control trucks. It helps truck drivers and trucking companies know where the trucks are, how fast they’re going, and if everything is working properly. It’s like having eyes and ears on the truck all the time, even when it’s far away on the road. Telematics are often literally “eyes” on the truck because they can show the trucks’ owners what the driver is doing in real time both inside the cab and outside around the truck.

Trucking telematics can also help with things like making sure the truck is using fuel efficiently, checking if the driver is driving safely, and even telling the truck when it’s time for maintenance. If a truck crash occurs, the telematics can reveal what the driver was doing at the time of crash and how the vehicle was being handled. So, in simple words, it’s like a smart system that helps trucks and their drivers do their jobs better and more safely.
